AI Advancements in Photoshop: Text & Background Transformations

Adobe has recently introduced an array of new artificial intelligence features in Photoshop, powered by its latest Firefly Image 3 model. Last year, Adobe incorporated generative AI into Photoshop, and now it plans to expand its AI toolkit with additional features that promise to be highly beneficial for users.

Currently available in beta, these features are fueled by the company’s Firefly Image 3 model and are expected to be released to the public by the end of the year. The question now is, what innovations will the third generation of Firefly bring to Photoshop?

Create visuals with text commands

The feature, known as “Create Image” or “Text to Image,” enables users to generate images from simple text commands. This functionality allows users to bring their imagined visuals to life, transforming ideas into tangible images with ease.

One of the most notable features is “Reference Image.” In this feature, the user uploads an image that serves as a reference for the AI, which then generates results inspired by the style and colors of the provided image. This allows users to guide the AI’s output using visual references instead of text commands, making it easier to achieve the desired results without the need for detailed descriptions.

Among the new features is one focused on background creation. Users will have the ability to change and enhance the backgrounds of their images, which could be particularly useful in product promotion. Additionally, a feature named “Improve Details” will use artificial intelligence to enhance the quality and details of images, further refining visual outputs.

The feature, known as “Create Similar,” enables the creation of various versions similar to an image previously generated by Firefly. This function is designed to help users achieve precisely the results they desire by offering multiple variations of a single concept.
